Backframe is built around cropping several regions from the same recording and composing them into one vertical video. Keep gameplay, facecam and the minimap visible together instead of choosing only one part of the landscape frame.
Backframe is for Windows 10 and Windows 11. It supports MP4, MOV and other video formats, with exports from 720p to 4K at 30–60 fps. Exact codec support depends on the file.
Video processing happens on your computer. Your account and licence still need an internet connection for sign-in and periodic checks.
Both paid plans allow three activated computers and three running simultaneously. You can freely deactivate a computer and move to another. Offline use lasts up to 30 days between licence checks.
You keep paid access until the end of the period you have already paid for, with no further renewals. After access expires, editing remains available but export is blocked.
The introductory US$50 lifetime licence includes future versions and updates to Backframe, without monthly renewals. It is an individual licence for up to three computers.
Yes. A monthly-to-lifetime upgrade is planned. The credit applied from previous payments is still being finalised and will be shown before purchase.
A limited free version and a card-required free trial are planned. Limits and trial length will be announced before they become available. Neither is open yet.
Not yet. Auto-generated captions are in development; the rest of the current editing workflow is in beta.
Backframe is in beta, targeting a late October 2026 launch. Join the waitlist for beta and launch updates. Installers will be available from a signed-in account when downloads open.
