Terms of Service

1. Who we are and when these terms apply

Backframe is provided by Backbone Studio (“we”, “us” and “our”). These terms apply to the Backframe website, accounts, desktop software, downloads and Templates library (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you use Backframe for a business, you confirm that you can agree to these terms for that business.

2. Accounts and access

Keep your sign-in details secure and give us accurate account information. You are responsible for activity under your account unless it results from our failure to take reasonable care. Tell us promptly if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.

Backframe may use email sign-in and supported third-party identity providers. Their own terms and privacy practices also apply when you choose them. You may request account closure by contacting support. We may retain information where needed for legal, billing, security or dispute purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Backframe software and licences

Subject to your plan and these terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Backframe for creating and exporting content. The plan shown at purchase controls the price, billing period and included access. The current account experience describes up to three active computers; available features and device limits will also be shown in the product or at checkout.

You keep ownership of the video, audio, images and projects you create or import. Backframe is designed to process editing media locally on your computer. You are responsible for having the rights needed to use your source media and for backing up your projects and exports.

You may not copy, sell, reverse engineer or misuse the software except where the law permits, or use it to infringe others’ rights or interfere with the Service.

4. Plans, payments and refunds

Paid plans, when available, are charged through the checkout shown to you. Prices, currency, applicable taxes and any recurring billing terms are displayed before you pay. Monthly plans renew until cancelled. You can manage a subscription through the billing portal when one is linked to your account; cancellation stops future renewal and ordinarily leaves access in place until the end of the paid period.

A lifetime offer, if available, is a one-time Backframe licence that includes future Backframe versions and updates made available under that offer. It does not promise that Backframe or third-party services will operate indefinitely. We will explain any material limits at checkout. Contact support before changing from a monthly plan to a lifetime offer so that any applicable credit or overlapping charge can be resolved.

For billing problems or a refund request, contact support@backbonestudio.com.au. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or another law that cannot be excluded.

5. Templates you share

You may submit a Backframe layout file, title, description and game to the Templates library. You keep ownership of your template. You confirm that you have the rights to share everything in it, and that it does not contain unlawful, infringing, harmful or malicious material, private information you are not authorised to publish, or misleading descriptions.

By submitting a template, you give Backbone Studio a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, review, display, reproduce and make it available for download through the Service, and to take the steps needed to operate and moderate the library. You also allow other Backframe users to download, adapt and use the template in their own projects and exports, including commercial videos. This does not give them permission to sell or republish your template file as a standalone template unless you separately allow it.

Layout files can refer to media or fonts that are not included in a download. You remain responsible for any third-party material you include or reference.

6. Library review and moderation

New submissions are reviewed before publication. Users may rate or report published templates. We may reject, hide or remove a template, restrict an account, or investigate a report when reasonably needed to enforce these terms, protect users, address rights claims or comply with law. We may remove a template from public access while reviewing it. We do not guarantee that every template will be available or suitable for your project.

If your template has been moderated and you believe there is a mistake, contact support with its template ID. We will review the information you provide.

7. Availability and changes

Backframe may be offered in beta and may change as we develop it. We aim to keep the Service available, but maintenance, outages and third-party dependencies can affect access. We may change features or these terms; if a change materially affects existing paid access, we will give reasonable notice where practicable and honour rights that apply by law.

8. Responsibility and legal rights

Use Backframe in accordance with applicable law and respect others’ intellectual property, privacy and security. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control or by content you or other users supply. We do not limit liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including applicable consumer guarantees.
